Statement on the Supreme Court’s Decision to Review the CFPB v. CFSA Case

February 27, 2023, Washington, D.C., – INFiN, a Financial Services Alliance, issued the following statement, attributable to executive director Ed D’Alessio, regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to review the Fifth Circuit’s ruling in the CFPB v. CFSA case:

“INFiN is pleased to see the U.S. Supreme Court recognize the importance of resolving fundamental questions relating to the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. No agency with the authority and power of the CFPB should be insulated from oversight by elected officials who are mandated to represent the interests of the American public. We look forward to the Court addressing this matter next term, bringing needed clarity for our members as we provide U.S. consumers with critical access to financial services that enable and empower financial inclusion and stability."
